Loss and bereavement can be felt as a deep pain and desperate aloneness – a constant yearning for the bereaved to the extent that we may wonder if we are losing our sense of self, our self belief and our sanity. Loss and bereavement are felt because of love and attachment; they are a natural part of our lives and lead to a temporary emotional imbalance. We will gradually and slowly recover from this pain and adjust to our new lives without the bereaved. The journey can be daunting to make alone but talking through our feelings and memories about the person or experience we have lost, will help us to gradually rediscover ourselves and begin our new life.
